--Beijing Subway granted the first “Gold Handle Prize” to the employees with outstanding contributions
On the morning of Jul.27, Beijing Subway granted “Gold Handle Prize” and the total prize 720,000 yuan to 40 employees with outstanding contributions, including two “Gold Handle Prize” winners, 12 “Silver Handle Prize” winners, and 26 “Bronze Handle Prize” winners. These people are the electric passenger train drivers. Their safe driving mileages reached 700,000km, 600,000km, and 500,000km respectively, and set proud records without safety accidents or responsibility service disputes. Zhang Xiaoyu, national labor model, the No.1 person of safe driving in subway sector, and top 10 stars of Beijing state-owned enterprises is one of them. Starting from this year, the “Gold Handle Prize” will be selected every year. In practice, no restriction on the proportion of wining prize will be imposed. The selection will be based on standards completely, and notification will be made so as to enable all the subway drivers to help and learn from each other, and promote each other, and form an atmosphere for common improvement.
Beijing Subway has 923 electric passenger train drivers, including 765 male drivers, accounting for 82.9%, and 158 female drivers, accounting for 17.1%. The drivers below 40 years of age account for 90.9%. The said drivers are the direct responsible people for driving trains and safe operation. Their safety awareness, operation caliber, service quality, and devotion directly relate to the passengers’ life and property safety, and have impact on subway operation safety and enterprise image. We can say that “the handles are light, but responsibility is heavy.” They need to maintain safety for each second. They are the major force for the survival and development of Beijing subway. They are the subjects who participate in the railway traffic operation market in the new situation, and even the valuable wealth of Beijing subway. With the operation of subway line 5 next year, the company will shoulder more and more tasks of operation in new lines, the team of subway drivers will grow bigger and bigger, and drivers will tend to be younger. There will be more employees engaged in practical operation. Beijing Subway granted gold, silver, and bronze handle prizes to such 40 drivers as Zhang Xiaoyu, Wang Zhihong, and Sun Hengbin, and gave them big prizes.
