Subway train purchase contract for Beijing subway line 2 signed formally
On the afternoon of May 22, the subway train purchase and update contract for Beijing subway line 2 was signed. The contract value was 818 million yuan, and the total 144 new type subway electric passenger trains will be put into operation in subway line 2 in the late half of next year. Passengers will enjoy the fast service brought by novel, beautiful, complete, safe and comfortable new type subway trains. The said purchase is one of the key projects of the hidden hazards elimination for Beijing subway line 1 and line 2. To expand the capacity of the project, 84 trains will be purchased and 60 updated, 144 trains in total. It is estimated that the first batch of sample trains will be delivered at the end of May 2007. After the type test is passed, batch production will follow. All the trains will be delivered for use in May 2008.
The trains to be purchased adopt paint-free, light stainless steel bodywork, displaying the concept of environmental protection; novel and unique outer appearance, complete facilities, and harmonious interior design exhibit the fashion of modern transport system; the special low noise measures and emergency ventilation system enables the subway-riding environment to be more comfortable; the front part of trains adopt energy-absorption structure. Emergency evacuation doors can ensure the safety of passengers and improve the safety performance of trains in case of emergencies; the trains adopt advanced AC drive system, and realized network-based control domestic subway trains for the first time, making the train traction performance more reliable; the auxiliary power system is furnished with the capacity to expand power supply capability under the state of breakdown; the train monitor system displays the real time operation status of major facilities of trains, and has control function over such auxiliary facilities as air-conditioners; the passenger carriages are equipped with complete passenger information system, which can facilitate passengers greatly, and the establishment of the real time news display system can enable passengers to learn of news facts at any time; the advanced signal train system enables trains to have automatic driving function. The trains adopt strict German and UK fire prevention standard, which improves the fire-resistance performance. Meanwhile, wheel chair run-board for the disabled people and the blind sidewalk are established on the trains at home for the first time, which has made good preparations for the Paralympic Games.
Beijing Subway and its bid invitation agent Guoxin Tendering Corporation Ltd invited public bid for the subway train electrical traction system, air braking system, and the whole trains on Dec. 9, 2005. According to relevant laws and regulations of the country, and after the strict review of the experts of the Bid Evaluation Committee, the final confirmation is that the combo of ZhuZhou CSR Times Electric Co., Ltd, Mitsubishi Electric corporation, and Hong Kong Zhengjia Industrial Holding Ltd is the supplier of train electrical traction system and air braking system, Changchun Railway Passenger Coach Co., Ltd is the supplier of whole trains.
Li Xiaosong, Vice Director of Municipal Traffic Commission addressed the singing ceremony, and the leaders of relevant commissions and bureaus attended the ceremony. Wang Dexing, Secretary of CPC Beijing Subway Committee and Board Chairman of the company signed the combo purchase contract for traction braking system and contract for electric passenger trains with representatives of suppliers.
