According to relevant laws and regulations and many years of operation experience, and with a reference to Guidance on New York Subway Emergency Safety, Beijing Subway has finished the compilation of the Manual on Beijing Subway Emergency Safety, and will distribute the Guidance to the public during the safe production month.  

The compilation and distribution of the Manual aims to enable passengers to have a deep understanding of subway safety knowledge and the disposal pre-warning programs for various sudden incidents, guide passengers to positively assist subway workers to deal with various sudden incidents, and take proper measures so as to get rid of danger with the fastest way for effective evacuation, minimize the impact of accidents, reduce hurt and dearth as well as property loss in case of emergencies. The main contents include the following: firstly, safety common knowledge for subway-riding and safe prompts to passengers; secondly, the sketch maps of emergency evacuation routes and the operation section evacuation guide of the total 70 subway stations; thirdly, the ways to disposal articles falling off the platform and sudden power cut; fourthly, emergency ways in case of poisonous gas and explosion; fifthly, fire disposal, evacuation, and the maps of emergency evacuation routes of various stations.  

With cartoons, photos, and characters, the Manual shows to passengers the measures to deal with emergencies that directly threat personal safety, and the most direct and effective measures to avoid danger, explains the meaning of various safety indications in the subway, and marks the locations of the hospitals and police stations near the stations.  

200,000 leaflets of the manuals have been printed. They will be distributed to passengers during the safe production month. In the meantime, Beijing Subway will conduct passenger safety publicity and education work in combination of the contents and relevant knowledge of Manual on Beijing Subway Emergency Safety.
