For the past 35 years since the trial run of Beijing Subway on Jan.15, 1971, there have been 11 drivers with consecutive safe driving record of more than 600,000km. There are Zhang Xiaoyu, Chen Jingfeng, Wang Zhihong, Ding Jian, Jiao Hongwei, Zheng Weiming, Su Guoli, Li Changshuan, Ruan Weifang, Zheng Zhilian of Subway Vehicle No.1 Company, and Xu Xiongzhi of Subway Vehicle No.2 Company. Of the drivers, Zhang Xiaoyu has an accumulative record of safe driving of 736161.4 km. Due to his good achievement and outstanding contributions; he was awarded as national labor model in 2005, and was cordially received and praised by the party and state leaders.  

They have been working as subway drivers with safety warning of “driving with great responsibility” and the service concept of “working for the benefit of passengers”. For decades of years, they have been driving subway as subway map, start subway on schedule, proper parking, and correct door-opening and closing operation as well as subway signal confirmation. In each working day, they work fastidiously to repeat the bald driving, without the occurrence of even a single driving accident and service dispute. With surefooted work style, careful work attitude, and considerate enthusiasm to work, they have made indispensable contributions to the capital rail traffic development on their ordinary posts.
